Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 22, 2026
This explains what happens to information when you use this website and the free Google Review Check. We keep it short and plain.
What we collect
- What you type into the Review Check: the business name and state you enter. We send it to Google to find the business.
- Your state choice: saved in your own browser so the form remembers it. It never leaves your device.
- A scrambled version of your IP address: we use it only to count how many lookups one visitor runs in an hour, to prevent abuse. It is stored as a one-way code that can’t be turned back into your address.
- Basic hosting records: our host, Netlify, keeps standard server logs such as IP address and browser type to run and secure the site.
We don’t ask for your name, email, or phone number to run the Review Check, and we don’t sell your information.
What we keep
We don’t store Google business details, ratings, reviews, or photos. We keep only Google place IDs for businesses that were searched, search words used to speed up repeat lookups, and numbers we work out ourselves, such as reviews per month, for up to 24 hours.
Who else sees it
- Google: your search is sent to Google Maps Platform. Google’s Privacy Policy applies to what Google handles.
- SerpApi: to read review dates we may send a business’s Google place ID (not your personal information) to SerpApi.
- Netlify: hosts this site and runs the lookup. See Netlify’s privacy policy.
Cookies
We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies. The only thing we save in your browser is your state choice for the form.
Your choices
You can clear your browser’s site data at any time to remove your saved state choice. If you want us to delete anything we hold about you, contact us and we’ll help.
Children
This site is for business owners and isn’t meant for children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top.
